Hallo ihr Lieben,

die letzte Station auf unserer Reise war Lake Tekapo ganz im Zentrum der Südinsel. Unsere Wanderung am ersten Tag hat uns zum Mount John Observatorium geführt und wir haben wunderschöne Ausblicke auf Lake Tekapo und die Alpen geniessen können. Wir haben auch versucht, Mt Cook, den höchsten Berg Neuseelands zu sehen, aber leider hat er sich in den Wolken versteckt. Der Abend war sehr stürmisch, aber dafür haben wir einen tollen Sonnenuntergang am See bekommen. Damit endet ein wunderbares Jahr in Australien für uns. Wir wünschen Euch allen einen guten Start ins neue Jahr 2017. Bleibt gesund und munter!

the last station on our New Zealand trip was Lake Tekapo in the centre of the south island. Our hike on the first day lead us to the Mount John Observatory and we enjoyed the beautiful views down to Lake Tekapo and the Alps. We also tried to see Mt Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand, but it was hidden in the clouds. New Years Eve was very windy and we had a dramatic sunset at the lake. With this a fantastic year 2016 ends. We wish you all a great start into 2017. Stay healthy and awake!

Hallo ihr Lieben,

heute gibt es ein paar Bilder vom Arthur’s Pass. Wir haben uns gleich heimisch gefühlt, denn die Berge haben uns sehr an die Schweiz erinnert. Bei unserer Wanderung auf den Avalanche Peak gab es sogar noch ein bisschen Schnee. Ausserdem haben wir noch einen riesen Wasserfall bestaunt und die Hängebrücke am Buller Gorge besucht. Bei Sonnenuntergang konnte Steffen dann noch ein paar traumhafte Bilder vom Tal machen.

In this article we have a few nice photos from Arthur’s Pass. We felt very much like ‚home‘, as the mountains reminded us of Switzerland. During the hike to the Avalanche Peak we even had snow. We also visited a beautfiul waterfall and Buller Gorge. The sunset provided us with a beautiful scene for photos.

im zweiten Teil unserer Reise geht es für uns zum Arthur’s  Pass und Lake Tekapo. Zuerst sind wir allerdings nach Nelson gefahren und haben auf dem Weg noch einigen Höhlen einen Besuch abgestattet. Die ersten Bilder sind aus der Rawhiti Cave, die wir an unserem letzten Abend in Takaka besucht haben. Die unendliche Anzahl an Stalaktiten in allen Formen war sehr beeindruckend. Am nächsten Tag haben wir die Ngarua Cave und das Harwood Hole besucht. Die Wanderung zum Harwood Hole führte durch einen wunderschönen Laubwald, in dem man in jedem Moment einen Elben hinter der nächsten Ecke erwartet. Am Abend hatten wir dann die besten fish-and-ships im Hafen von Nelson.

the next days we will be exploring Arthur’s Pass and Lake Tekapo. But first a few images from our drive to Nelson. On the way back we visited a few beautiful caves. The first images are from the Rawhiti cave, full of thousands of small and large stalactites. We also took a tour through the Ngarua Cave and visited Harwood Hole. The hike to the hole lead through a fairytale-like forest, and you expected an elve to appear any second. In the evening we had the best fish-and-ships ever in the Nelson harbour.
