Kalbarri National Park
Hallo ihr Lieben,
nächstes Ziel unserer Reise war der Kalbarri National Park, ungefähr 550km nördlich von Perth. Die Temperaturen waren damit auch schon viel angenehmer und wir konnten in den (beheizten) Pool am Zeltplatz springen. Die Landschaft ist sehr trocken und hat uns an Utah erinnert. Farbtupfer auf dem Weg gab es jedoch: einige Rapsfelder und ein pink-farbener See. Die pinke Farbe kommt von Mirkoorganismen, die Betacarotin aufgrund des hohen Salzgehalts und der intensiven Sonneneinstrahlung produzieren. Im Kalbarri National Park gibt es die Schlucht des Murchison River, der sich beeindruckend durch die Landschaft schlängelt. Das fotografisches ‘Fenster’ und den ‘Himmelsweg’ erlauben eindrückliche Blicke in dieses wunderschöne Landschaft.

Our next destination on the trip was Kalbarri National Park, about 550 km north of Perth. The temperatures were much more pleasant there, and we were able to jump into the (heated) pool at the campsite. The landscape is very dry and reminded us of Utah. However, there were splashes of color along the way: some canola fields and a pink-colored lake. The pink color comes from microorganisms that produce beta-carotene due to the high salt content and intense sunlight. In Kalbarri National Park, there is the gorge of the Murchison River, which winds impressively through the landscape. The photographic ‚Nature’s Window‘ and the ‚Skywalk‘ offer stunning views into this beautiful scenery.
