Hallo ihr Lieben,

nach einem hektischen Umzug in unser neues Zuhause (für 1 Jahr) haben wir es endlich in den Schnee geschafft! Wir sind ins Bear Valley gefahren und hatten eine tolle Zeit. Den ersten Tag haben wir noch schneelos die Räumfahrzeuge bewundert, aber am nächsten Tag wussten wir dann, warum sie gebraucht werden. So viel Schnee! Den Kids haben sich auch sehr schnell mit dem weissen Gestöber angefreundet. Unser letzter Tag war ein wirklich schöner Abschluss mit strahlendem Sonnenschein. Wir wünschen allen ein frohes neues Jahr 2026!

Dear friends,

After a hectic move into our new home (for one year), we finally made it to the snow! We drove to Bear Valley and had a wonderful time. On the first day, while it was still snowless, we spent our time admiring the snowplows—but by the next day, we certainly knew why they were needed. So much snow!

The kids also warmed up to the „white flurries“ very quickly. Our last day was a really beautiful conclusion to the trip, with bright, radiant sunshine. We wish everyone a Happy New Year 2026!

wir sind wieder in der Heimat gelandet und warten noch auf etwas Papierkram bis es in die USA geht. In der Zwischenzeit wollen wir noch einmal den Strand geniessen. Damit es nicht zu langweilig wird, haben wir die Fahrräder dabei. Ein besonderer Ausflug war der Northern Rivers Rail Trail – eine stillgelegte Bahnstrecke, die als Fahrradweg ausgebaut wurde. Es hat uns total gut gefallen. Man fährt durch das wunderschöne Tweed Tal und es gibt immer wieder tolle Zwischenstopps, z.B. Eis vom Bauernhof und Kükenstreicheln auf dem Zeltplatz.

We’re back home for now and waiting on some paperwork before heading off to the US. In the meantime, we want to enjoy the beach once more. To keep things from getting too quiet, we brought our bikes along. A special trip was the Northern Rivers Rail Trail — a decommissioned railway line that has been turned into a cycling path. We absolutely loved it! The ride takes you through the beautiful Tweed Valley with plenty of fun stops along the way — like ice cream straight from the farm and cuddling chicks at the campground.

nur ein kleines Update von unserem Besuch im Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Falls ihr jemals die Gelegenheit habt, ist ein Besuch auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen! Die Anlage ist fantastisch mit vielen Tieren und man hat die ganze Zeit einen Blick auf Sydney, das Opernhaus und die Sydney Harbour Bridge. Die Kids waren total begeistert von all den Tieren und ich hatte kaum Zeit für Fotos. Deswegen gibt es auch nur die Giraffen (der absolute Favorit), die Koi-Fische (Snack-Pause) und das Wallaby (nochmal Snacks).

Just a quick update from our visit to Taronga Zoo in Sydney. If you ever get the chance, it’s definitely worth a visit! The grounds are fantastic, with so many animals, and all the while you have views of Sydney, the Opera House, and the Harbour Bridge. The kids were absolutely thrilled by all the animals, and I hardly had time to take photos. So, all we have are the giraffes (the absolute favorite), the koi fish (snack break), and the wallaby (more snacks).
